The Journey Begins: From Malang to Kapas Biru

My adventure commenced in Malang, a city renowned for its cool climate and colonial architecture. To reach Kapas Biru, I embarked on a road trip that took me through picturesque towns and winding mountain roads. The route from Malang to Kapas Biru spans approximately 70 to 80 kilometers and typically takes 2.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. The journey itself is an experience, with each turn revealing new vistas of East Java's countryside.

Route Overview

  1. Malang to Kepanjen: Departing from Malang, I headed south towards Kepanjen, a bustling town that serves as a gateway to southern Malang regency.

  2. Kepanjen to Dampit: Continuing my journey, I passed through Kepanjen and made my way to Dampit, a small town known for its agricultural activities.

  3. Dampit to Tirtoyudo: From Dampit, the road began to ascend as I approached Tirtoyudo, a town nestled in the foothills of the Semeru mountain range.

  4. Tirtoyudo to Ampelgading: The journey then took me to Ampelgading, a town that marks the transition from the lowlands to the highlands.

  5. Ampelgading to Pronojiwo: Finally, I reached Pronojiwo, the district where Kapas Biru is located. From here, local signage guided me to the waterfall's parking area.

However, the effort was well worth it.

Reaching the base of Kapas Biru was a moment of awe. The waterfall, standing at approximately 100 meters tall, cascaded down into a serene pool surrounded by verdant foliage. The sound of the water crashing against the rocks was both invigorating and calming. It was a perfect spot to relax, take photographs, and immerse oneself in nature's beauty.
